Spring Is Here--I Hope

April 4, 2014

Hello! Is it finally springtime where you are? We've been on a weather bungee cord of late, but it looks like it's finally here. Warm days this week, the forsythia has bloomed and the trees are budding. All this makes me hopeful I can finally pack away the fleece.

So, what else is new? I have a new book out--one of two books that were "orphaned" when Harlequin's NeXt line ended. The title is THE FIRST BOY I LOVED and it's available in both print and digital formats (Kindle, Nook, etc.). It's about Gillian Warner and the boy she wanted to marry, who was killed in Vietnam. She thought she had moved on. She had every indication that that was so. She'd married a man she truly cared about, had a son, had a grandchild, been content. Until her husband died and her becoming a widow somehow unleashed all the unresolved grief surrounding that first love. She is overwhelmed with regret because of the secret she kept from him until it was too late, and she realizes that she has to do something about it. She has to close that door to the past once and for all. She decides to make a pilgrimage to Vietnam, to see the place where he died, but that trip is more than complicated by her troubled granddaughter Mae, who becomes her unexpected travel companion , and by A. J. Donegan, who makes his living taking sad Americans on what he calls "Guilt Trips, Inc."

Some review snippets:

"Refreshingly different and incredibly touching..."

"...strong emotional reading that leaves you oh, so satisfied when you reach the end..."

"...I loved what Cheryl wrote and her amazing talent..."

There's a book trailer on YouTube. Here is the link if you'd like to see it:

And, moving right along, I will also have THE BRIDE FAIR available in digital formats on April 15. This is a Harlequin Historical which won the Romance Writers of America's RITA award for Best Short Historical the year it was published.

THE BRIDE FAIR is being re-released in digital format only. If you don't have a Kindle or a Nook, you can still read it on your computer by downloading the Kindle or Nook app appropriate for your system. Once it's downloaded and installed, you can receive the digital books you order directly onto your desktop.

Other news:

I'm writing but basically I'm a "writer interrupted," so I'm not sure what the next project will be or when it will be finished. But let me thank you for all your support. You are and always have been amazing.

Have a wonderful Spring,
