Ellen Bari

Welcome

Bari’s playful and humorous side shines through when writing for children. Her picture book, Jumping Jenny, Lerner Publishing, March 2011, is about a little girl who uses her passion for jumping for a good cause. Bari has published numerous early readers, non-fiction and other creative curriculum materials, online and in print, for a host of educational publishing giants including Hougton Mifflin, Zaner Bloser, Scott Foresman PBS, Behrman House Publishers, Benchmark Education and others. Bari has also written scripts for pre-school animation series.

A former interactive multimedia producer and exhibit curator turned writer and creative consultant, Ellen Bari has built a diverse writing practice, including content strategy and development, product marketing materials, children’s books, animation and media, exhibit signage, curriculum development, and many other content-rich materials. Bari’s career has included seminal projects for luminary companies at every end of the spectrum, from Nickelodeon and Sesame Workshop to the United Stated Holocaust Memorial Museum and American Express.

A versatile writer with a refreshing blend of creativity, innovation and clarity of vision, Bari is skilled at creatively synthesizing a body of content and communicating its essence through a wide variety of media. Bari consistently develops innovative programs and products, elegantly customized to engage audiences, both young and old, for media, new and old.

Bari’s many years of professional writing/producing experience span the corporate, museum, entertainment, publishing and education fields. As a result, she has developed a sixth sense for sizing up an organization’s culture and communications needs. Broad experience on both sides of the production and editorial processes has taught Bari what it takes to deliver stellar content within the tightest deadlines, skimpiest budgets and attacks by two-headed monsters (only happened once).

Bari’s master’s degree from Columbia University, Teacher’s College in Communications, Computing and Technology in Education has rooted her in the principles of effective instructional design and learning theories, which inform her communication writing as well as her marketing and educational materials.
