Boardroom Conspiracies

Boardroom Conspiracies is a fictional Wall Street murder mystery. The book is triggered by such current events as Enron, World Com, Tyco and similar cases. During a prior criminal trial for the murder of their Chairman, the former Directors were found not guilty. The corporation's shareholders are now demanding a billion dollars in damages from those same Directors.

The plot unfolds as the author guides you to a front row seat in a New York City courtroom. Scandalous governance by former corporate Directors is exposed during the shareholders civil trial. The former Directors are again accused of having murdered their Chairman, Robert Hughes. The shareholders allege that he was murdered on board a cruise ship, during a working vacation for the Board. They further contend that the murder was designed to prevent Chairman Hughes from going to the authorities to seek clemency for his misdeeds and those of his former Directors before disclosing them in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Was it murder or an accident? As you watch, a confession is extracted, but the jury must still decide whether to find the Directors guilty of the corporate scandals that casued the shareholders to lose their dividends and stock value. The inner workings of the civil court system, its judges and lawyers, and the jury and its deliberations frame the setting for this Wall Street murder mystry.
