Avian Care and Behavior Consultant, Nikki Moustaki, is the author of sixteen books on birds and bird behavior (with more forthcoming), and works regularly with clients to help heal the relationship between them and their birds. She writes for Bird Talk Magazine, as well as for Pet Product News, Ferrets, Popular Dogs, and she is a Contributing Editor at Dog Fancy Magazine. Nikki also trains dogs, specializing in puppy training and socialization.

Nikki has been involved with birds since 1988. She became active in local bird clubs, and began breeding and showing birds. During those first few years, she kept Lovebirds, Cockatiels, Budgies, Lories, Macaws, Amazons, Conures, Finches, Canaries, and Brotergeris. Around 1993 she became aware of the bird overpopulation problem, stopped breeding birds, and began helping in rescue efforts.

Today, Nikki lives with an African Grey parrot, a Meyer's parrot, lovebirds, and two schnauzers. She splits her time between New York City and South Florida. She is available for bird consultation, puppy training, speaking engagements, and radio and television appearances.
