BiographyJulie Gilgoff has just published her first book, A Granddaughter's Rite of Passage: Tales from the McCarthy Era. She is doing readings at various locations around the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York.
Julie Gilgoff was born and bred in New York City. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College, she traveled to remote destinations in Nicaragua, Argentina, and Israel, writing for regional and international media sources. She has published feature articles in New York Newsday, The Jerusalem Report, and The Jerusalem Post. Fluent in Spanish, she travels abroad to cover stories that require in depth interviews with Latin Americans in their native tongue. She has written for academic journals such as The Georgetown Journal for Law and Poverty and the Johns Hopkins Africana Studies website. Gilgoff has also contributed to Not for Tourists guidebooks. |
