National Geographic Investigates Ancient India

The Indian subcontinent was the home of many diverse and vibrant ancient cultures including the Bronze Age Harappan civilization and the ancient Mauryan Empire. Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism all started here, and are expressed in stunning architecture and art. In more recent times, archaeological wonders include the famous Taj Mahal and 22 UNESCO World Heritage sites of cultural importance.
