Here I am standing with Space Shuttle Atlantis on the pad. Is this cool or what? I've been to 10 shuttle launches and was awestruck each time a space shuttle went up.

My New SCIFI Book

What do Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Bill Nye "The Science Guy", and Bill Prady (Co-Creator, The Big Bang Theory TV Show) have in common? They all recommend Nick's new book "Edward of Planet Earth".

Bill Nye "The Science Guy": "We join Edward as a regular guy living a regular life, albeit centuries hence. From page one, his world comes right at you, one fantastic futuristic function and worldwide wonder after another. Eftimiades wants us perhaps to ponder what we are all doing here on Planet Earth. Open it up, and hang on." 29 October 2012, Twitter: @TheScienceGuy

Bill Prady, Co-Creator, The Big Bang Theory TV Show: "With his comedic dystopian future history populated by hapless reluctant heroes and lovesick artificial intelligences, Nick takes a big step toward becoming the American Douglas Adams." 29 April 2012, Twitter: @billprady

Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut: "Edward of Planet Earth" is a thought-provoking satire about life in humanity's high tech future and the impact on social, political, and religious institutions. Edward is here, look out planet Earth" 26 November, 2012.

Edward of Planet Earth

My latest work is a political and philosophical satire entitled "Edward of Planet Earth". It is a madcap scifi adventure that spoofs modern life, from organized religion to the traffic control system.

The Story

200 years in the future Edward Temple, a "uniquely ordinary person" becomes caught up in a zany world where self-aware super-computers are as argumentative, egotistical, demanding, and emotionally needy as the humans they serve. Everything is fair game as Edward navigates befuddled governments, psychotic software, greedy corporations, overly attentive robots, and romance. And of course jelly donuts find their way into the story.

Join Edward as he is drawn into a quest to discover the true nature of God, which computers believe to be more software than spiritual. Joining him in this adventure are new found friend Amanda Schoor and Mega Brain, advanced artificial intelligence that has uploaded itself into Edward’s subconscious.

So buckle up and put your seat backs and tray tables in the upright positions and join the adventure today.
