About the Author


Tom Clynes is a journalist and photographer whose curiosity has taken him to some of the world's most remote corners. Tom covers environmental issues, energy, science and adventure travel for a wide range of publications. He has reported on Ebola outbreaks and armed conflicts in central Africa, retraced Edmund Hillary's climbs in New Zealand, learned to fly in the Australian outback, and chased the ghosts of outlaws and freedom fighters in Iceland, Jamaica and Vanuatu. Tom is a contributing editor for the magazines National Geographic Adventure and Popular Science, and also writes regularly for Men's Journal, Backpacker, and several other magazines. His books include "Wild Planet" and "Music Festivals from Bach to Blues."
